Wife of Joshua Hawkins, also buried in this cemetery. They so far as is known, was the first Hawkins family who came to Greenville Co, during the 1750 as they purchased 200 acres of land on Aug. 16, 1756. She was a daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Cook, and was born in Prince George County, VA. Information about Joshua and Sarah's family will be found under Joshua Hawkins. GPS location is as follows in the wooded area of the cemetery near the back road. N 34 degrees 56.683' H082 degrees 26.531' Latitude: 34.5668297 Longitude: 82.2653122
The death date of 1803 is the death of her husband Joshua. Sarah seems to have died around 5 march 1808 per disbursement of estate remainders in document "Expenditures of the estate of Joshua Hawkins Deceased Made up to the fifth day of March 1808" to sons Pinckney & Isham according to instructions of Joshua's will. The wooden marker death year of 1844 is absurd as she would have been 120! Also the children listed under Joshua's entry are also incorrect as they include his parents as his children. That entire entry should be removed as it is so incredibly inaccurate. -Leslie Viarengo Touw direct descendant (and have documentation of all facts)
