Joshua Hawkins was a son of Michael Hawkins, born 1685 in Bruton Parish, York County, VA, who married Sarah Eaton Cook (1725-1803), probably the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Cook. He and Sarah had the following children: - William Eaton Hawkins, born ca. 1750 and died 1812. - Pinckney Hawkins, born ca. 1771-76, the youngest son. (Other children thought to be the children of Joshua and Sarah) - Fredrick Hawkins, born ca. 50 in Lunninburg, Co., vA and died 1820. - Michael Hawkins - Thomas Hawkins - Josiah Hawkins (possibly the Josiah buried in the North Ford Baptist Church Cemeteery in northern Greenville Co., SC. - Edward Hawkins - Isham S. Hawkins GPS IS AS FOLLOWS: N34 degrees 565.685' H082 degrees 26.529' Latitude: 34.5668488 Longitude: 82.2653122 An Inventory Taken of Joshua Hawkins Estate Deceased this 12 day of August 1803. And the remains of the estate then 'distributed' March 1808 between sons Pinckney & Isham March 1808 implying the death of their mother Sarah as this was stipulated in Joshua's will. The death date on the wooden tag is the date of his will NOT of his death. He lived 2 more years. (spelling below from original document) An Inventory Taken of Joshua Hawkins Estate Deceasd this 12 day of August 1803 And the remains of the estate then 'distributed' March 1808 between sons Pinckney & Isham March 1808 implying the death of their mother Sarah as this was stipulated in Joshua's will.
