Eileen Gabriel was born in Polk County, NE to Joseph and Clara (Meyer) Karges. She grew up on the farm in Polk County and attended Riverside and High Prairie Schools. Eileen was united in marriage to Arthur Gabriel on May 22, 1951 in Clarks, NE. They lived on their farm in Polk County. Eileen worked at the Good Samaritan Center in Osceola for 28 years. She moved off the farm in 1991 to Shelby before moving to Columbus in 2002. Eileen made her church home at St. Andrews Catholic Church in rural Osceola where she sang in the choir, taught catechism, and was a member of the Altar Society. While living in Shelby she was a member of Sacred Heart Church and was a member of St. Isidore Church while living in Columbus. She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary in Shelby. Eileen enjoyed playing cards, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family. Eileen is survived by: Son Duane (Sue) Gabriel of Lincoln, NE Daughter Donette (Rich) Jablonski of Columbus, NE Daughter Denise Boruch of Polo, MO Daughter Carrie Gabriel of Oklahoma Son-in-law Kirt Augustin of Shelby, NE Sister Doris Jaworski of Lincoln, NE Fifteen Grandchildren Twelve Great grandchildren Four step-grandchildren She is preceded in death by: Husband Arthur "Art" Gabriel Parents Joseph and Clara Karges Grandson Christopher Gabriel Grandson Ryan Jablonski Son-in-law Ivan Preister Sister Alnetta (Bob) Topinka Brother-in-law Joe Jaworski Niece Lynette Goins Niece Teri Michaud In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested
