Joseph Steve Elzner June 23, 1923 - September 26, 2016 Joe Steve Elzner passed away in Kaufman, Texas on September 26, 2016 . Joe was born in Kaufman, Texas on June 23, 1923 to Steve and Annie Simecek Elzner. He was raised and lived all his life in Kaufman County. He retired from The Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant in Dallas after 24 years of service., After retirement from Ford he and his wife Betty opened a flooring business, "The Floor Store" In Terrell in 1970 and retired many years later. He married Betty Ruth Walker on October 5, 1946 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Kaufman, and they would have been married 70 years next month. Joe loved his family and friends. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing and family vacations, but his true passion was his farm and cattle. He was happiest when he was at his farm that he truly enjoyed. He is survived by his wife: Betty Ruth, sons: Steve Wayne Elzner and wife Dianna Elzner of Kaufman and Paul Tracey Elzner and wife Terri Elzner of Kaufman. Brother: Ben Elzner and wife Lillie Mae of Kaufman, sisters: Ann Bailey of Kaufman, Mary Hughes and husband John of Kemp and Alice Pessagno and husband Emile of Cedar Creek. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Edwin Elzner, Frank Elzner, and Rosie Reznicek. Grandchildren: Lauren Jo and husband Shane Smith of Austin, Joseph Logan Elzner of Kaufman, Katharine Elzner of Kaufman, Traci Renee and husband Thomas Kristinek of Three Rivers. Great -Grandchildren: Clay Johnson, Kylee Johnson and Micah Kristinek and many other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
