Bio
Mrs. Mikeska was born in Fayetteville, Texas, to John Drab and Mary Svrcek Drab. She had lived in Burleson County for 32 years, first in the Cooks Point area and the past several years before her death in the Deanville area. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was married to Joe W. Mikeska on August 22, 1943, in Fort Worth. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1979. She was also preceded in death by a son, Edwin Floyd Mikeska on April 11, 1988. She was survived by six sons, Joe Mikeska, John Mikeska, and Gene Mikeska of Bryan, Charles Mikeska and Floyd Mikeska of Caldwell; three daughters Mary Burns of Houston, Charlene Skrabanek and Margaret Mikeska of Caldwell; a twin sister, Frances Orsak of Hallettsville and a number grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her funeral mass was celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23 in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Monsignor Emilian Folytn officiating. Internment was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetary. Pallbearers were grandsons, Mike Mikeska, James Mikeska, Curtis Mikeska, Charles Mikeska, Doug Burns, and Ray Burns. (Information Obtained from Vestnik, Vol. 76, No. 39, Ed. 1, October 12, 1988).
