Bio

Fourth of 9 children born in Rhode Island to Peleg Peckham and Desire Watson, George became a lawyer in Albany NY where he practiced with his brother Rufus. In 1830 he married Mary Perry Watson, also a RI native, daughter of Captain John Watson and his wife Mary Ann. They moved to Milwaukee in the 1850S where he became a prosperous land owner.
