Harriet Godin Tennant, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, while surrounded by her family and loved ones. Mrs. Tennant was born in Rogers on Oct. 3, 1925, to Anton and Agnes Novak Kracl. She attended Rogers School and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1943. She then attended Creighton University for one year and graduated from Creighton Memorial St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Omaha in 1947. She married Roland A. Godin Sr. at St. Mary's Catholic Church on May 5, 1948. They lived in Omaha, Schuyler, Greeley, Colorado, and Burlington, Vermont, and came to Denver in 1963. Mr. Godin died in 1977. She married Russell L. Tennant in 1987 and they lived in Denver. He died in 1991. Mrs. Tennant retired as a registered nurse in 1982, after 22 years of service at Mercy Hospital in Denver. She held membership at St. James Catholic Church, St. James Altar and Rosary Society, Church Women United and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association. She is survived by her sons, Roland A. Godin Jr. (Debby) of Denver, Colorado, and David L. Godin (Susan) of Mansfield, Texas; four grandchildren, Tony (Keri), Kimberly (Jeff), Jessica (Jeremy) and Karissa (Oscar); and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Agnes Novak Kracl; brother, Ron Kracl of Rogers; and sister, Antoinette (Joseph) Amigoni of Roanoke, Illinois. A funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at St. James Catholic Church, followed by interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver. The Columbus Telegram (Nebraska)
