SGT US ARMY KOREA Funeral rites for Herbert Lafayette "Hub" Eubanks, 66, were held February 13 at 11 a.m. at Sigler Funeral Home Chapel. He was a native of George County and resided in the Brushy Creek community. He was a Korean War veteran, a long time resident of Mobile, Ala., and was retired from Scott Paper Co., as a maintenance supervisor for 30 years. Eubanks was a member of the Wilson Avenue Baptist Church of Saraland, Ala., where he was an active deacon and was Sunday School director for over 30 years. He died February 11 following a lengthy illness. Survivors include his wife, (now deceased) Audrey Eubanks of Lucedale, three children (1 now deceased Gary L Eubanks); five grandchildren and a sister. Services were conducted by Rev. Sammy Gates and Rev. Jimmy Howell. Interment was in the Macedonia Cemetery with Sigler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Floyd Dorch, Johnny Laker, J. B. West, Mark Roden, Eddie Quinley, Paul Saunders, Larry Helton, David Short, Harold Anderson and C. J. Mason. Honorary pallbearers were his nephews. Published in the George County times, February 1996.
