Bio
George K. Grubaugh was born in 1850 to John Grubaugh (1802) and Elizabeth "Betsy" Riblet. He was the 8th of their ten children. The family moved from Ohio to Indiana in the 1860s, and then onward to Nebraska in the late 1870s where George was a homesteader. George married Henrietta Jane "Nettie" Crocker on 23 Feb 1875 in Butler County, NE. George and Henrietta likely had six children. They are as follows: Carrie Belle Grubaugh (1875-1934) - Carrie married Charles Edward Arehart (1867-1894) and, after he died, married George W. Duncan (1866-1915). Charles Robert Grubaugh (1878-1924) - he married Margaret Elizabeth Mericle (1881-1956) Louis Henry Grubaugh (1880-1951) - he married Effie Orena Schooley (1881-1920), and, after she died, married Dora V. Kester (1899-1946) Thomas Fletcher Grubaugh (1882-<1900) - he is listed only in the 1885 Nebraska census. Mabel Flora Grubaugh (1894-1983) - she married Cam Chester Clark (1891-1978) Florence Grubaugh (1896-1896) - it's likely she died at or near birth. Henrietta died in 1898 and the family split up. George never remarried. In 1900, George is living alone. By 1910, George had moved in with Louis Henry and his family. George stayed with that family until he died in Leavenworth, Kansas in 1930.
