Funeral services for Fred Allen "Dick" Perry, 70, of Palestine, were held Saturday, November 18th, at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel in Palestine, with the Revs. Danny Biddy & Tommy Caskey officiating. Dick died Wednesday, November 15, in a Palestine hospital. He was born June 7, 1930 in Cherokee County, Texas, son of Elijah Earl and Ima Grace Foster Perry. He served in the Army during the Korea War and was a member of the Veterans of Foreig Wars Post 3907 and Society of 3rd Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. He was a self-employed investor and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Tom Perry. Survivors include his daughter, Jeannie Perry Litchfield, stepdaughters Brenda Gross and Linda Richardson, his mother, Ima Perry, Palestine; sisters, Ann Perry and Dorothy Henderson, both of Paletine and Eloise Roberts of Poynor; brothers, Troy Perry of Center, Charlie Perry of Palestine, Blue Perry of San Augustine, J. L. Perry of Andrews, Pop Perry of Madisonville and Jim Perry of Ackerley; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Point Killion, Jesse Foster, Johnny Foster, Dewey Ferrell, Billy Joe Warren, Jr. and James Bullard. He was loved by his family and many, many friends.
