Bio

William C. Forst, 88, passed away Friday, December 8, 2006, in Richardson, Texas. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 14, at Restland Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 S. Jupiter, Richardson, Texas. William was born in Paris, Arkansas, to the late Joseph and Matilda Nehus Forst. He attended schools in the Paris/Suciaco area. William enlisted in the U.S. Army in February 1941, serving in several states specializing as a radio repairman. While stationed in Fort Hood, Texas, he met and married Hilda Stolz on April 10, 1945. He was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant in November 1945. After the war ended, they made their home on a farm near West, Texas. Seven children were born and reared on the farm. Bill also worked for the Texas Highway Department until the family moved to DeSoto, Texas, in 1967. He then worked for Braniff Airways as a radio mechanic until he retired in 1982. He and Hilda moved to North Dallas in August, 2003, to be closer to family. William was preceded in death by his wife; five brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by his children, Charles Forst and wife, Linda, Charlotte, Doris, Janice, Eugene, Marilyn and husband, Steve, and Diana and husband, Mark; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Ed; and many nieces and nephews.
