Bio

Funeral services for James Mack Hardy, 75, of Huntington will be held in the First Ora Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Hardy was born January 3, 1941 in Nacogdoches to the late Beatrice (McKenzie) and Benjamin Perry Hardy and died September 2, 2016 in a local hospice facility. Mr. Hardy was a truck driver for 42 years and a wonderful Poppa. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Matt Lauger, and Janice and Chris Basey; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Mack and Ashley Laundry; honorary son, Bobby Blankenship; honorary daughter, Elizabeth Webb; 8 grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Jo Ellen Hardy; 3 great-grandchildren; special friends, Frances Tucker, and Isaac Gilley; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Sammie (Williamson) Hardy; brothers, John Hardy and Charles Hardy; sisters, Beth Fenley, and Pat Griffith.
