MRS. DORA A. BRIDGE SUCCUMBS SATURDAY Mrs. Dora A. Bridge, wife of John R. Bridge, 116 Bandy avenue, died at 9:40 o'clock Saturday night in Moline. She had been in ailing health for several years, and death was due to complications. Dora Ann Tomlinson was born in Hancock county, near Adrian, on July 25, 1878, and was the daughter of Lorenzo D. and Margaret A. (Bean) Tomlinson, both deceased. She spent her early childhood in Burlington, Ia., but soon came here with her family and attended public school. Mrs. Bridge was of the Baptist faith. She belonged to Violet chapter, O.E.S., the Galesburg Woman's club and the Auxiliary to the Burlington Veterans association, in all of which organizations she took an active part when her health was good. She was married here on June 14, 1894, to John R. Bridge. Two children were born, and a daughter, Bella Iona, died at the age of three. She leaves her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Orleatha Bridge Sward of route two, Monmouth; five grandchildren, Dale, Wanda, Forrest, Verne and Glenn Sward of route two, Monmouth; a sister, Mrs. Alice V. Oswald, of route two, Monmouth, and a half-sister, Mrs. C.F. Cedarholm of Spokane, Wash. Funeral rites will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Horton, Hinchliff and Wilson Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. R. Claibourne Johnson. Burial will be in Hope cemetery, where grave services will be conducted by Violet chapter, O.E.S. Galesburg Register-Mail: July 29, 1940 HOLD SERVICES TODAY FOR MRS. DORA A. BRIDGE Funeral rites for Mrs. Dora A. Bridge were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the Horton, Hinchliff and Wilson Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. R. Claibourne Johnson. Mrs. Harry Suydam played organ selections. Burial was in Hope cemetery, where Violet chapter of Eastern Star conducted rites. Casketbearers were O.E. Atkinson, R.F. Granfield, R.E. French, Earl Haskins, P.M. Henderson and A.H. Wiles. Galesburg Register-Mail: July 30, 1940
