Mary Lucille Garrett, daughter of Thomas Henry Garrett and Sarah Eliza Thompson, was born August 12, 1902 at Turlington, Freestone County, Texas. Mary had to start cooking and doing chores early in life due to her mother's health. She had many years of experience and was a great cook. Visitors were always invited to stay for the next meal and most accepted the invitation and they probably left with a couple of jars of preserves or jelly or both. She is remembered as a good citizen, wonderful mother, good friend, unselfish and very generous. Hunter and Mary were wonderful parents. They moved to Mesquite in 1980 to be near their children. Mary died November 1, 2000. They were parents of two children: John Lee and Lillian Faye. =========================================== "Mary Lucille Bonner Mary Lucille Bonner, 98, of Mesquite passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000 in Mesquite.
