Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Coker-Mathews-Peters Chapel with burial in Forest Park Cemetery. Born June 3, 1926, in Gilmer, he was the son of Brad and Cynthia Overstreet Edwards. He was a painter and a Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by his mother of lone Oak; three sons, Eddie and Kenneth Edwards, both of Greenville, and Jimmy Edwards of Germany; two daughters, Janie Sadler of Greenville and Linda Harvey of Mineola; three brothers, Hubert Edwards of Lone Oak, Elvin Edwards of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Leo Edwards of San Francisco, Calif.; three sisters, Ruby Herring of Greenville, Pearl Sims of Fort Worth and Ethel Austin of Jackson, Tenn.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Kay Edwards.
