Alice Mildred Labaj, resident of Round Rock, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016, in Austin, Texas, after a lengthy, hard-fought illness. She was born on March 4, 1937 in Taylor, Texas. As a homemaker, Mom was a pillar of strength who took great pride in making our house a “home”. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren - attending all of their activities. She was an amazing cook and a talented seamstress - sewing all of our school uniforms and costumes growing up. She was a loving wife and friend to Dad since the day they wed on Oct. 11th, 1958. She was an avid UT fan, always attending the annual Longhorn/Aggie Breakfast Bash with Dad. She had an insatiable love of sports with an uncanny ability to discuss “the game” with the best of them! Her quick-wittedness will be missed…but we’ll do our best to continue the trait Mom! She lived a life of incredible faith and was an active member of the Taylor Brethern Church. Her amazing strength and perseverance was an inspiration to many and will be a continued source of strength as our journey continues. Alice leaves behind a husband of over 57 years,3 daughters, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, a sister, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Mildred Hodon and brother Gus Hodon.
