Jerry M. Wood January 19, 1937 ~ August 9, 2016 Jerry Wood, 79, of Hillsboro passed away August 9, 2016 in Hillsboro, Texas. He was born January 13, 1937 in Whitney, Texas to Thomas and Eula Williams Wood, he was united in marriage to Etna Cornelius. In 1959 he joined the National Guard and was honorably discharged on February 18, 1963. For 44 years he was employed at the Compress in Hillsboro. Following his retirement Jerry went to work at Latham Springs Christian Camp. In his leisure time he enjoyed gardening, doing yard work, hunting and fishing. Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Jackie McCoy Wood, Bill Wood and Tommy Ray Wood. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Etna Wood; seven children, 21 grand children and 23 great-grand children. Graveside services will be held August 12, 2016 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro...M_M
