Clarion Democrat - Jan. 22, 1952 pg. 8 James E. Kifer, 57, of Polk RR died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the Oil City Hospital. A son of the late LeVerne and Salinda Cook Kifer he was born August 26, 1894, in Parkers Landing where he spent his early life. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are three sons, Donald C. Kifer of Oil City, Dale Kifer of Gibsonia and Raymond Kifer of Evans City; three daughters Shirley and Louise at home and Mrs. Emogene Hindman of Franklin; eight grand children; two brothers and seven sisters, Melvin Kifer of Karns City, Herman Kifer of Battle Creek, Mich., Mrs. Thomas Marshall of Lansing, Mich., Mrs. Annie Pierce and Mrs. Salinda Thorton of Battle Creek, Mich., Mrs. Susie Stewart of Rimersburg, Mrs. Rose Wolfgang of Newmansville and Mrs. Mary Brown Wichita, Kan. The body was taken to the Osenider Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Sligo Cemetery.
