Bio

Chris Darwin McClaugherty has completed his earthly journey. On the morning of August 1, 2016 he was called home to rest eternally with his Savior. Chris and his twin sister, Christi, were born to Travis and Barbara McClaugherty September 12, 1960. Chris is survived by his wife, Regina McClaugherty, son Matthew McClaugherty, son Michael McClaugherty and wife, Reagan and granddaughter, Lilly. He leaves behind stepchildren, Alyssa and Alec Hancock, mother, Barbara McClaugherty and sisters, Christi McClaugherty and Kelley Trimble and numerous other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Travis McClaugherty, and was happy at the thought of being reunited with him in heaven. Chris was a firefighter by trade and was proud of his affiliation with the Port of Houston Authority where he was employed for 32 years. Over time he became Senior Captain on the fire boat and experienced many situations to save lives and property. Chris knew a little bit about every subject one could think of. He thrived on good conversation and was very protective of his loved ones. He loved with a full heart. Chris was a cancer survivor. The chemotherapy he received in his 20’s damaged his heart. It has been only in the last four years that he has suffered with heart complications. We are thankful he was spared death at that early age. He was grateful to enjoy life and family for another 30 years. Rosewood Funeral Home
