CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Raymond "Ray" L. Harshberger, 66, died Wednesday at 6:25 a.m. at Doctor's Hospital, Corpus Christi. He was a five-year survivor of cancer. He was born Nov. 1, 1941, in Middlebury Township, Ind., to Leo and Viola Harshbarger. He was owner/operator of Ray's Heat, Air and Electric for more than 30 years in Corpus Christi. He was a master electrician. He married Dorothy "Dottie" Lynch, Jan. 9, 1992. She survives. Also surviving are his mother, Viola Harshberger, Millersburg, Ind.; three sisters, Mary Louise Jones, White Cloud, Mich., Violet (Robert) Peachy, Millersburg, Ind., and Jane (Elva) Yoder, Goshen, Ind.; three stepchildren, Cheri Slocum, Samuel (Stacia) Lynch, and Tracy (Drew) Evans, all of Texas; and eight stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo; one sister, Ida Ellen Harshberger; and a nephew, Rodney Peachy. Friends may call Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, Ind., where the funeral service will take place Wednesday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Ron Diener and Deacon Norman Maust, both of Pleasant View Mennonite Church, will lead the service. Burial will be in Miller Eight Square Cemetery, Goshen, Ind. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
