Bio

Viola Harshberger, 98, formerly of Goshen, died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday in Millersburg. She was born June 30, 1911, in Middlebury, to Rudy and Fannie (Miller) Kauffman. She lived in the area her whole life. On March 7, 1937, in Middlebury, she married Leo Harshberger. He died Oct. 17, 1977. She was a homemaker, co-owner of Harshberger Insulation, Goshen, and farmed north of Goshen. She was also a member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ida Ellen; a son, Ray Lee Harshberger; a grandson, Rodney Allan Peachy; three sisters, Barbara, Mary and Ida; and three brothers, Monroe, Melvin and Milo. The funeral service will start at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Ron Diener and the Rev. Tyler Hartford, both of Pleasant View Mennonite Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Miller 8 Square Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be directed to Pleasant View Mennonite Church. Source: Goshen News
