Floyd Sawyer Floyd Sawyer, age 93, of Georgetown, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2007. He was born on September 13, 1913 in Mexia, Texas to parents Drew and Cora Ella (McElroy) Sawyer. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, JD Sawyer of Mt. Pleasant, Texas and Donald Dean Sawyer of Fort Worth, Texas; and two sisters, Vera Voss of Waco and Roye Scarbrough of Mexia. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruby Sawyer of Georgetown; and a brother, Delmar Sawyer of Houston. Floyd lived in Houston and was employed for forty years with Shell Oil until he and his wife retired and moved to Georgetown in 1976. He was a veteran of World War II, member of First United Methodist Church and fifty year member of the Scottish Rite Masons. Floyd loved to fish and deer hunt. The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 27, 2007 in the chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home with Reverend Brenda Adkins officiating. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville. Published in Austin American-Statesman on Aug. 26, 2007
