Bio
Samuel “Sammy” Sulkowski, of Bad Axe, was 84 years of age when he peacefully passed away at Huron Medical Care Facility. Sam grew up in Salem, MI; in his teens he was working in the gravel pit running turnapull earthmover and serving on the Salem Fire Depart until, he started at Warren Products. Beginning as a punch press operator, after 35 years, in 1985, he retired as a die setter. "Sam was one of the most selfless, kind and caring individuals one could meet." He cherished his family and loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed local farmers tend their fields, hanging out at McDonald’s Spartan store, Tiger base-ball, playing euchre and pinochle. Sam was preceded in death by parents, Oscar and Ida (Blake) Sulkowski; his wife of 45 years (married 04 Apr 1959 in Farmington), Jane J. (Gaffney) Sulkowski; infant daughter, Sheryl Sulkowski; brothers, Henry, Oscar “Sonny”, Charles, Arthur Sulkowski; sisters, Betty Contreras, Ruth Collins, Dorothy Cook, Annabelle Runstrom, Wilma Sanders, Janette Sebring and Martha Boettcher. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
