Sandra Marie Obenchain passed away unexpectedly in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on June 23, 2016. She was 62 years old. Sandra was born on March 27, 1954, in Oakes, N.D., to James Nathan Obenchain and Darlene Marie (Palensky) Obenchain. She attended school in Verona, N.D., and graduated from Verona High School in 1973. She later moved to Columbia, Pa., and then to Lancaster, Pa., where she was living at the time of her death. She had worked for Wal-Mart for 16 years. Sandy was known for her outgoing personality, her sense of humor, and her love of friends, family, and her two cats. She will be greatly missed. Sandra leaves behind: sisters Cheryl (Hen) Richie and Susane (Steve) Erickson; brothers Bill Obenchain, Barry Obenchain and Bryan (Cindy) Obenchain. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by brother-in-law Vince Habel and sister-in-law Susie Obenchain, as well as by several aunts and cousins. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, James Obenchain and Darlene Palensky Obenchain Sveum; a sister, Sheila Habel; and a brother, Allen Obenchain. Cremation has taken place. A service in her memory will be held at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Oakes, N.D., on Monday, Aug. 8, at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Oakes.
