Horton Taylor Sr. CALHOUN CITY Horton Gayliston Taylor Sr., 93, died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at his home. He was born Feb. 1, 1906, in Calhoun County to Robert A. and Lorena Victoria Langston Taylor. He was a retired assistant in charge of the Plant Quarantine Division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a 1929 graduate of Mississippi State University. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Anthony Kay officiating. Burial will be in Oak Springs Cemetery in Derma. Survivors include his wife, Unita Taylor of Calhoun City; two sons, Dr. Horton G. Taylor Jr. of Ripley and Dr. James W. Taylor of Knoxville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
