Bio

John Edwin Ridge was the son of David Ridge and Margaret Calahan. In 1900, Johnny and his birth family were residing in Lick Township, Jackson, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he had a brother, (David) Elmon Ridge, # 105932947. Elmon was also enumerated in the home of his maternal grandparents in 1900 as Elmon Callahan. As David and Margaret were not married until around 1898, and Elmon was born ca 1895, I believe him to actually be a half brother to John. John Ridge and Virlie Hatten were married on 19 Feb 1919 in Jackson County, Ohio. Virlie was the daughter of James Hatten, # 39946542, and Hattie Crabtree, # 95603007. In 1920, John and Virlie were residing in Ward 4, Jackson, Jackson, Ohio. In 1930, they were residing with their two daughters in Lick Township, Jackson, Ohio. Family Information: Virlie E Hatten Ridge Evans, b 17 Sep 1895 in Ohio and d 21 Jan 1979 at Gallia, Gallia, Ohio. Married at time of death. Daughter, Margaret E Ridge, b ca 1923 in Ohio. Was residing with her grandparents, David and Jennie Ridge, in Lick, Jackson, Ohio in 1940. Daughter, Jolene Ann Ridge, b 21 Jun 1926 in Jackson, Jackson, Ohio. Thomas Westenberg and Jolene Ann Ridge were married on 06 Jul 1954 in Wayne, Indiana. Thomas was b on April 14, 1925 in Columbus, Ohio, to William Westenberg and Goldie Dunn. At this time, both were residents of Columbus. John Ridge died in 1931 at Lick Twp., Jackson, Ohio, and was interred on July 19, 1931. Herb Oscar Evans and Virlie Hatten Ridge were married on 24 Feb 1939 at Jackson, Ohio. Herbert was b on 11 February 1885 to Joseph Franklin "Frank" Evans and Lydia Augusta Mitchem (aka Meachan ? Meacham / Michem)
