Bio
Verdis H. Unnasch, our beloved father and friend, passed away peacefully at home on December 13, 2013. Verdis was born on August 2nd, 1929 to Rudolph & Ella Noak-Unnasch in Detmold, TX. Verids was a heavy machine operator for many years and a farmer. He was a very hard worker and took pride in the work that he did. Verids is survived by his wife Betty R. Unnasch of 33yrs; niece Linda Marek; children, Vicky Clark and husband Kelly of Rockdale and grand-daughter Hannah, LaNell Deary and husband Joseph Deary Sr of Thorndale and grandchildren Joe, Joshua & Madelyn, and Phillip Templain of Thorndale. He is also survived by his brother R.E. "Sixty" Unnasch & wife Ruby of Thorndale as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sisters Irene Marek and Lavern Mullin, and brothers, Leroy Unnasch and Wilbert "Butch" Unnasch. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Thorndale, TX at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Phillip Templain, Joseph Deary Jr, Joshua Deary, Matthew Deary, Walter Beran, Jamie Beran, Braxton Beran, and Jeffery Mueggie. Honorary pallbearers are; R.E. Unnash Jr, Joseph Deary Sr, Willie Ray Deary, Stephen Smith and David Smith.
