Denton Record Chronicle -- 2 Nov 2009 Reta Ladell Davis, 93, of Denton passed away Sunday morning in Ponder. She was born March 30, 1916 in Mineola, TX to James Alexander and Lena Towne Alexander. She was a member of the Lake Cities United Methodist Church for over 78 years. She was the youngest of six children. She was married to Robert A. Davis in October of 1938 in Denton. He preceded her in death in 1971.The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors Monday night from 6 to 8 p.m. for visitation. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 2 p.m., at the Lake Cities United Methodist Church with burial at the Swisher Cemetery. She is survived by: three sons, James McCurley & wife Patsy of Sanger, Herb McCurley & wife Claudine of Denton, Charlie Joe Davis & wife Vicki of Kaufman, one daughter Betty Brown & husband Jack of Justin and 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Lake Cities United Methodist Church or the Swisher Cemetery Association. DeBerry Funeral Directors are in charge of the arrangements.
