Bio

Larry Gene Shellenberger was born April 6, 1946 in Gainesville, TX, the son of F.A. Shellenberger and Enid Quick Shellenberger. He passed away Sunday, June 26, in Little Elm, TX at the age of 70. Larry was raised in Marietta, graduating from Marietta High School with the class of 1964 and then attending Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK, one year to obtain certification as a computer programmer thus working at T.I. and E.D.S. He then became an aviation mechanic and subsequently owned his own business, Shellair in McKinney, TX. Larry later acquired his pilot’s license. His hobbies included fishing, mainly for crappie, outdoor activities, touring on his Harley, riding his tractor, and just enjoying his cabin and land on the river in Love County. Larry was of the Church of Christ faith. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his son, Marc Shellenberger of Princeton, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Mark Puccio of Frisco, TX; two brothers and sisters-in-law, F.A. “Butch” and Wanda Shellenberger of Ardmore, OK and Preston L. and Sharron McGehee of Marietta; a sister, Janet Foster of Justin, TX; four grandchildren, Isac, Ella, Mark Jr., and Heather; and the mother of his children, Sharon Shellenberger of Frisco, TX. Serving as casket bearers are Marc Shellenberger, Mark Puccio, Sr., Butch Shellenberger, Mark Puccio, Jr., Joe Bell, and George Mechler.
