Bryan-College Station Eagle, Sat, Nov 18, 1989 Leon A Krueger Caldwell - Funeral services for Leon A. Krueger, 69, of the Birch community will be on Sunday. He died Thursday evening in a Brenham hospital. He was born in Lyons and was a lifetime Burleson County resident. He was a retired machinist for International Shoe Factory in Bryan and was a cattle rancher and a hay farmer. He was a member of the SPJST Lodge 86 in Caldwell and the Sons of Hermann Lodge in Deanville. He attended school in Big Creek. He was a private first class in the U. S. Army during World War II. He served in Germany in Company B of the 52nd Armored Infantry Battalion and received two Bronze Stars. Family members said Krueger loved to cattle and helping people. He was a member of Holay Rosary Catholic Church.
