Baylor County Banner, Seymour, Texas Paula Ann Portwood Brookreson, 64, of Wichita Falls, Texas, died Thursday, March 9, 2000, in Wichita Falls. Graveside services were held on Saturday, March 11, at 11 a.m. in Riverview Cemetery with Dr. Ed Hart officiating. Burial was under the direction of Archer Funeral Home. Mrs. Brookreson was born December 11, 1935, in Wichita Falls to Harry and Helen (Page) Portwood. She was married to D.J. Brookreson, who preceded her in death in 1983. Paula owned and operated Baylor County Abstract Co. in Seymour for many years and was also a rancher. She moved to Rolling Meadows Retirement Complex in Wichita Falls in the fall of 1989. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Jane Portwood, on December 5, 1992. Survivors include a sister, Helen Lee Portwood of Wichita Falls; two grandchildren, Harry Knowles and Dannie Knowles of Austin, Texas; a niece, Lee Ann Swanzy of Longview, Texas; and a grand-niece, Sarah Swanzy of Longview.
