"Skeeter" Bridges, 72, of 4014 Gordon died Friday at 7:50 p.m. in a Bonham hospital. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today at Sorrells-Peters Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Tarrant officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery. He was born Oct. 12, 1910 in Hopkins County, the son of W.H. and Zula Mooney Bridges. Mr. Bridges, who was raised south of Brashear, was a World War II Army veteran, driver and operator for Mooney Motor Coaches and a Baptist. Surviving are a brother, Marvin "Shorty" Bridges of Greenville; sister, Khomatee Jones Preston of Mesquite; aunt, Bernice Mooney McKay of Greenville; and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, R.W. and Rosa Lee Mooney; and his parents. Pallbearers will be Marvin Jones, Melvin Jones, Calvin Ray Jones, Marvin A. Bridges Jr., William Arlis Bridges and Bruce Mooney.
