Viewing: Wed., Aug. 5, 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the church, with Parish Rosary following. Memorials: Brainard VFD or Rejda Legion Post #273 of Brainard. Cemetery: New Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Marie E. Polacek was born on September 14, 1926 to James and Mary (Reznicek) Eckstein on the farm near Prague. She attended a rural country school and after high school graduation, became a teacher for a few years until getting married to Victor A. Polacek on October 6, 1948. Eleven children were born to this union. After her marriage, they lived on several farmsteads until they settled on the family farm near Brainard in 1960. She lived on the farm until she moved to david place in 2010. Marie was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Brainard. Marie is survived by her children: James (Nancy) Polacek of Wisner, Janet (Larry) Haugness of Las Vegas, Nev., Ann (Tom) Coates of S.D., Ernest (Linda) Polacek of Bellwood, Nancy (Ron) Mohnsen of Leigh, Diane (Wayne) Courtwright of David City, Mary Lou (Ryan) Welton of Malmo, Susan Polacek of Brainard, Robert (Anna) Polacek of Butte, Cindy (Roger) Sorensen of Milford, and Dean Polacek of Brainard; twenty grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carrie Spatz of Brainard. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Victor in 1999, one grandson, Jered Polacek, brother and sister-in-law, Ernest (Anna) Eckstein and brother-in-law, Emil Spatz.
