According to his death certificate (Fannin Co., TX, #63086, Mrs. Myra L. SIMMONS, informant), Drew was born in Tom Bean, TX, the son of George W. [Washington] SIMMONS and [Ainsley Elliott] "Ella" WARRINGTON, and the husband of Myra Lois ALEXANDER. The couple had 7 children: Mary Ella, George E., Billy Charles, Grace Irene, David Arthur, Frances Marie, James Andrew, and Glen Edward. Simmons, 69, of Bailey, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1964, at 4:30 a.m. in M&S hospital in Bonham. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Bailey Baptist church with the pastor of the church, the Rev. Barnard Holmes, and the Rev. J. E. Fender, officiating. Interment, directed by Wise Funeral home in Bonham, will be in Arledge Ridge cemetery. A retired farmer, Mr. Simmons was born at Tom Bean, Apr. 25, 1895, the son of the late George W. and Ella Warrington Simmons. Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Myra L. Simmons of the home at Bailey; five sons, George E. Simmons and James A. Simmons, both of Bailey, Glen E. Simmons of Azle, David A. Simmons of Mesquite and B. C. Simmons of Albuquerque, N. M.; three daughters, Mrs. E. T. Munger of Anna, Mrs. Clyde Berryhill of Bonham and Mrs. J. R. Daniel of Ector; one brother, A. C. Simmons of Leonard, 22 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
