Bio

Doris E. Foster, 92, of Amarillo, died Thursday, May 26, 2016. Entombment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church, 3402 S. Jackson St., with the Rev. Josh Kouri and the Rev. Lane Boyd officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Doris was born July 20, 1923, in Hedley to James M. Everett and Melbra Taylor Everett. She graduated from Hedley High School and attended Clarendon Junior College. She married Herbert M. “Hub” Foster on Nov. 26, 1944, in Hedley. Doris retired from Pioneer Corporation personnel department. She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Jewell Everett; two brothers, Joe Everett and James “Buck” Everett; and a great-granddaughter, Gabriella Dyess. Survivors include a daughter, Shyrie Dyess and husband Todd of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Laura Zavala and husband Luis of Amarillo; a grandson, Wesley Dyess and wife Susan of Amarillo; four great-grandchildren, Avery Zavala, Carson Dyess, Chloe Dyess and Sebastian Zavala; a sister-in-law, Mildred Everett; a niece; and many friends. The family appreciates the staff at Moore Assisted Living and BSA Hospice of the Southwest for the care she received. The family suggests memorials be to Trinity United Methodist Church, 3402 S.
