Bio

Mrs. Tina Beth Wheeler Mulkey, 93, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at the IOOF Nursing Home in Ennis. She was born June 19, 1913 in Ennis, the daughter of William Harrison and Lutie Belle Shipp Wheeler. She was reared in Ennis, graduating from Ennis High School in 1930. On her 21st birthday, June 19, 1934, she was married to Keith Mulkey. After their marriage they lived in Ennis. Mr. Mulkey preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1992. She was a member of the Baylor Baptist Church and is perhaps best remembered for her beautiful singing voice. She sang with two of her sisters, Jo and Dixie, as the "Three Wheeler Sisters" on KPRC Radio in Houston and locally sang at numerous weddings, programs and served many years as the soloist for J.E. Keever Mortuary. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Jan and Charles Magee, Judith Ann and Jerry Gray, David Keith and Joan Mulkey and Jo Beth and Hugh Ellis; nine grandchildren, Janet Kay Magee, Lt. Col. John Keith Gray, Joel Kevin Gray, Major Robert Keith Magee, Christian Keith Mulkey, Capt. Marc David Mulkey, Mary Beth Ellis Driskell, Joanna Mulkey Ellis and Laura Elizabeth Ellis; 13 great grandchildren, James Hutton Magee, Matthew Keith Magee, Luke Anthony Magee, Eleanor Barbara Magee, Joshua Keith Gray, Micah Jon Gray, Hanna Leigh Gray, Sarah Beth Gray, Keith Patrick Mulkey, Tyler Christian Mulkey, Madison Brooke Mulkey, Brayden Keith Mulkey and Olivia Katherine Driskell; nieces and nephews, Betty Jo Shipley Ludwig, Robert Wheeler Shipley, Olin Wheeler Brown, Donna Dixon Oman and Donna Mulkey Martin; cousins, Ava Nell Stewart and Dorothy Shaw; and a host of great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Jewel Wheeler Shipley, Ruby Jo Wheeler Brown and Dixie Lee Wheeler Wicker. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Keever Chapel with Rev. Johnny Mansell and Rev. Richard Moody officiating. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. Contributions may be made to the Keith Mulkey Scholarship Fund c/o Baylor Baptist Church.
