Bio

Mrs. Frances Mahdak, 81, died on Thursday night at her home 604 East Waco, after a long illness. Mrs. Mahdak was born on January 20, 1889 in Moravia, the daughter of Anton and Frances Holik Pavlicek. In 1904 she came to the United States with her parents, settling in the Ennis community near Creechville. In 1909 she was married to John Mahdak of Ennis and after their marriage they lived in the Creechville community. Mr. Mahdak died on December 7, 1941 and in 1946 she moved to Dallas to live. In 1954 she moved back to Ennis, where she was a member of St. John's Catholic, Altar Society, and the K.J.Z.T. Society. Surviving her are four son John Mahdak, George Mahdak and Bernard Mahdak, all of Dallas; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Mekins, Mrs. Frances Crane, Mrs. George Gribbin, and Mrs. George Nemec, all of Dallas; twenty four grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one brother, Anton Pavlicek of Creechville; and five sisters, Mrs. John Zabojnik of Telico, Mrs. Leslie V. Vinkler, Mrs. A.R. Miller, both of Ennis, Mrs. Mary Prachyl of Dallas and Mrs. Frank Miller of Waco. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. on Friday in the Keever Chapel and Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon on Saturday in St. John's Catholic Church with the Rev.
