Funeral services for Billy Ray Johnson, 70, of Johnsonville, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, 2006, in Hixson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arlen Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Drakes Fork Cemetery in Cravens under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time Friday at the Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, at his residence.He was a native and lifelong resident of the Johnsonville-Vernon Parish area and a retired truck driver at Fort Polk.He is survived by his two sons, Arlen Ray and Harlen Wayne "Bain" Johnson, both of Cravens; daughter, Sherry Ross of Rocky Mount, N.C.; brothers, J.L. Johnson of Cravens and Wayne "W.E." Johnson of Johnsonville; four sisters, Opie Deason of Cravens, Eloise Pemberton of Dallas, Arlene Cook of Cravens and Karen DuFour of Cravens; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. ============================ Father: Huel JOHNSON b: 16 May 1909 in Vernon Parish, Louisiana Mother: Gladys Emma WISBY b: 11 Jun 1913 in Vernon Parish, Louisiana A Big Thank You goes to Duffie and Kathy for the above information.
