Bio
Alice was born to Rosie and Joe Mares. She grew up in a Czech farming community where she learned family values. Alice and Delphin were married in 1947 and spent 58 years doing everything together. They jointly owned Motal's Maintenance for 44 years here in Houston. Alice was an unconditionally loving wife, mother and grandmother. Together they enjoyed many years square dancing in Houston and surrounding communities with the Crescent M group. The Family Domino Group became an extended community where they and their children shared many happy times together in Houston and New Braunfels. Alice was honest, cheerful and hardworking and constantly urging her children to get the best education they could. Alice was a member of SPJST and St. Ambrose altar society. Alice loved people and often had friends over for cards and dominos. In her later years, she took great comfort having Delphin by her side and bravely faced the effects of her illness. Alice is survived by her five children: Robert Motal of California, Glorian Hummel of Michigan, Gary Motal, Yvonne Andrews and Rosemarie Middleton of Houston and eight (8) grandchildren: Matthew, Kassidy, Lindsay, Kendall, Kristin, Kelsey, Jeremy, and Peyton. Alice was predeceased by brothers, Edward and Joe, and sister Margaret.
