Bio

Henry William Ward, 62, Elkhart farmer, died Saturday, July 19, 1958 at 10:30 p.m. following a short illness. A native of Anderson County, Mr. Ward was born Nov. 6, 1895. He served in the 99th Balloon Company during World War I. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Church with Revs. H.A. Springfield and B.W. Walton officiating. Burial was in Elkhart Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lewis Peterson, Francis Day, Turner Jones, Roy Howell, Leonard Wright, J.B. Parker, W.J. Gentry, and S.B. Knott. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Iris B. Ward of Elkhart; son, Robert Lee Ward of Lufkin; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Estlinbaum of Pasadena, and Mrs. Louis Knight of Austin; brother, Walter Ward of Montalba; two sisters, Mrs. Iva Johnson of Palestine, and Mrs. Lula Vannoy of Montalba; eight grandchildren. Arrangements were by Hassell & Foster. (Palestine or Elkhart newspaper)
