Genevieve Hiett: York resident, 84 dies: Genevieve Jean Hiett, 84, of York died Monday, July 9, 2001, at York. She was born April 30, 1917 at York to Callie and Mattie (Hogan) Cartwright. She was a member of the First Christian Church in York, the Mary Circle, and the C.W.F.. On November 23, 1936, she was married to Ivan C. Hiett in Grand Island. She was survived by two sons, Gary (Sharon) Hiett of Thayer and Harold (Sharon) Hiett of York; one daughter, Wilma (John) Bachelor of York. Genevieve also raised one grandchild, Alana Gail (Bob) Barth of Lincoln. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant daughter, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 12, at the First Christian Church in York with the Rev. Herman Trauernicht officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in York, Memorials may be directed to the church.. Visitation has begun at Metz Mortuary in York. (York News-times:)
