On May 5, 2016, the Lord called ''Boots'' Childers home. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2016 at Tye Baptist Church, 207 Morgan in Tye, Texas. ''Boots'' was born September 9, 1939 in Paducah, Texas to Delton and Bessie Childers. He married Vada Beck on March 23, 1957 in Durant, Oklahoma. He served on several committees at Tye Baptist Church and served on the Tye City Council and Planning and Zoning Boards. He was always humble in the Lord's work. ''Boots'' was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Vada; two sons, Garland Childers and wife Teri, and Gayland Childers and wife Cindy; four grandsons, Jason, Andrew, Landon and Tyler Childers; one brother, Kenneth Childers and wife Patsy of Eula; and one sister, Barbara Shaw and husband Bill of Plano. In lieu of flowers, please make a love offering to the Tye Baptist Church or donation to the Tye Volunteer Fire Department.
