Rites held Friday for Olive Stehr Funeral services for Mrs. Olive Stehr, 57, of the Bethel community were held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Lutheran Immanuel Church in Hereford. Rev. Herman Schelter, pastor, officiated at the services. Burial was in West Lawn Memorial Park in Dimmitt, directed by Gilliland Funeral Home of Hereford. Mrs. Stehr died last Wednesday in the Golden Spread Nursing Home after an 18-month illness. She was born March 5 1914, in Missouri and moved to Texas in 1917. She married J.T. Stehr in Tyler on Dec. 24, 1936. They moved to Castro county in 1944. Mrs. Stehr was a member of the Lutheran Immanuel Church of Hereford. She was the former Bethel correspondent for the Castro County News. Survivors include her husband, J.T.; a son, Cecil; two daughters, Mrs. Cecelia Schueler and Mrs. Sarah Louise Davenport; a brother, Harold Glenn McWhirter; and a sister, Gladys Womack. Pallbearers were George Tiefel, Henry Wedel, Herbert Bruns and E.F. Vogler, all of Hereford and Monte Boozer and George Sides, both of Dimmitt.
