Gene was born in Denison, Iowa. His parents had been in Worcester, Massachusetts when in the 1870's, early in married life they joined a large wagon train convoy & headed to Des Moines, Iowa by covered wagon. Later they moved to Nebraska where they homesteaded. He was 1 of 8 kids to Lucius Elmer Mann (58181985) & Emma Louise Bell (58181984). His great grandparents were all American with roots in England, France & Ireland. He moved to Edam, Saskatchewan, Canada where he met Olive Spindler & married New Year's Day 1916 ! They had a whopping 12 kids & farmed for a living. Later they moved to Grimsby with some of the kids who were still at home & started peach farming. Gene died when he was 69. Olive moved back out west to live with her daughter Marie & crossed over at age 84.
