L.G. "Jeepers" Kilsby, went to be with his Savior on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on February 23, 1933, in Damon, Texas, to Lonnie Kilsby and Pauline Kilsby Fishbeck. Jeepers was a lifetime area resident and served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Angleton and the Veterans of the Korean War. Jeepers worked in the auto sales business in Brazoria County for 40 years. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. Jeepers is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Ruth Kilsby of Brazoria; one daughter, Lesa Lanea Smith and husband, Michael, of Brazoria; two sons, Ty Kilsby and friend, Cheryl Norsworthy, of Brazoria and Michael Hudgeons and wife, Anneka, of West Columbia; four brothers, Paul Kilsby of Bay City, Frank Fishbeck and wife, Shirley, of Alvin, Fred Fishbeck and friend, Morelle Hargis, of Beasley and Tony Kilsby of Sweeny; and one sister, Dale Cox and husband, Robert, of Sweeny; and 11 grandchildren, Brittnie Chandler of Brazoria, Brayden Smith of Brazoria, Trey Kilsby of Angleton, Brandon Kilsby of Alvin, Shena Eaton of Arkansas, Amie Morton of West Columbia, James Rambo of Sweeny, Michael, Brady and Taylor Hudgeons of Sweeny and Zackery Kilsby of Tow. He also is survived by four great-grandchildren, three nieces, three nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Jeepers is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Kilsby and Pauline Kilsby Fishbeck; and his son, Lance Kilsby. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 12, 2007, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home Chapel in West Columbia with Bro. Bobby Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest in West Columbia. Serving as pallbearers will be Clifford Cater, Terry Alexander, Dusty Martin, Frankie Trevino, Deke Grosvenor and Larry Linscomb. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Wiggins, Ken Powell and A. Carroll. In lieu of flowers, Jeepers' family requests donations be made in his name to Helping Hands and Hearts Hospice, 412 Plantation Drive, Lake Jackson, Texas 77566. Jeepers was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Arrangements are under the direction of Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia.
