Richard Witherspoon Roscoe - Richard E. Witherspoon, 74, of Roscoe, died at 12:15 p.m. at Roscoe Nursing Home. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Roscoe United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ray Elmore, pastor, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Weldon Reeves, pastor of the Seminole United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Roscoe. Born Dec. 5, 1905 in Ellis County, he married Mauverine Adams on Feb. 21, 1926 in Colorado City. He was in the grocery and farming business for 50 years. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Don of Roscoe and Gene of Lubbock; three sisters, Mrs. Wardth Hagar of Kermit, Wanda Ruth Hestes of St. Louis, Mo. and Elmeta Thompson of Roscoe; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Harold Duvall, Harold Haynes, Bob Emerson, Walter Maloney, Charlie Ebarb and Tab Wiman.
