Ray ROSCOE - John Robert Ray, 88, died at 4:05 p.m. Thursday in Roscoe Nursing Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First Baptist Church in Roscoe with military graveside rites in Roscoe Cemetery, under direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Roscoe. Ray, a resident of Nolan County for 72 years, was born July 12, 1893, in Bell County. His first wife, Mrs. Lois McGlothlin Ray, died Oct. 24, 1963. His second wife, Mrs. Ella Mae Ray, died Jan. 22, 1979. He was a retired carpenter and a veteran of World War I. Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Lee Sowell of Roscoe; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Anderson of Odessa and Mrs. Claude Barker of Sweetwater; a brother, Wade Ray of Plainview; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
