Daughter of James & Albina (Sobotka) Stuchl. Married to Ernie Kucera on 9-22-1940 at St. John's Lutheran Church at Schuyler, NE. From the Columbus, NE. "Telegram) Newspaper: An 89-year-old Abie woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision north of David City Monday afternoon. Mildred Kucera was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, Ernest Kucera, 87, that collided with a car driven by Norbert Nekl, 81, of Linwood at the junction of the 12B Spur (Bruno Road) and Highway 15, according to information released by the Butler County Sheriff's Department. The Kuceras and Nekl were transported to the Butler County Health Care Center in David City, where Mildred Kucera died. Ernest Kucera remained at the David City hospital, while Nekl was transferred to BryanLGH Medical Center West in Lincoln. Nekl was listed in serious condition this morning in the hospital's intensive care unit. In Monday's accident in Butler County, the sheriff's department reported the Kuceras' vehicle was westbound on the 12B Spur. The couple's vehicle stopped at a stop sign and then made a left turn to go south on Highway 15 when they collided with the northbound Nekl car. Seat belts were in use in the Kucera car and not in use in the Nekl car, the sheriff's department reported.
