Funeral services for Dorothy Machotka Hayes, 90, of DeRidder, LA were held Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in DeRidder, Rev. Lamar Oliver officiated. The burial followed in the Beauregard Cemetery. Dorothy, the daughter of Frank and Hattie Jones Machotka, was born on December 10, 1925 in Rowena, TX. She passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at her residence in DeRidder. Dorothy married the love of her life Randolph D. “Randy” Hayes in May of 1945 and was they were married for 60 years until Randy’s passing in 2005. Dorothy was very active within the community and a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in DeRidder. She was a member of D.A.R. (Daughters of American Revolution) also member of the Daughters of the Confederacy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Richard Don Hayes; son-in-law, Rebel Garnett Ryland; daughter-in-law, Fern Calloway Hayes; two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her son of Rosepine; two daughters and one son-in-law; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
