(Published in Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 3, 2013) Ruby Laverne Pate Lankford, 93, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Ms. Lankford was born Jan. 16, 1920, in Cimmaron County, Okla., to Frank and Hattie Machotka. She enjoyed crochet, doing arts and crafts, and was a talented cook. Survivors include two sons, Harvey Pate and Tommy Pate, both of Amarillo; a sister, Dorothy Hayes of De Ridder, La.; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
